Licence Terms

What you may do with the sheet music you buy from Pink Petal Music – in short: everything your own ensemble needs, but please do not share it.

1. Copyright

All music, scores and parts sold on this website are protected by copyright. The copyright remains with [the composer / the rights holder]. When you buy an edition, you buy a licence to use the music as described here – not the copyright itself.

2. What you may do

  • download the PDF files and store them on your own devices
  • print as many copies as your own ensemble, class or orchestra needs for rehearsals and performances
  • add fingerings, bowings and other markings to your printed copies
  • perform the music with your ensemble, in private and in public (see section 4)

3. What you may not do

  • pass on, sell, lend or share the PDF files or printed copies with anyone outside your own ensemble
  • upload the files to websites, shared cloud folders, file-sharing platforms or social media
  • arrange, change or republish the music without our written permission
  • remove copyright notices from the files

4. Performances and recordings

You are very welcome to perform the music in concerts, services, festivals and competitions. Fees for public performances are normally covered by the licence of the venue or organiser with the relevant collecting society [in Ireland: IMRO – please check whether the works are registered].

Recordings for sale, streaming services, broadcast or other commercial use need our permission in advance. Recordings of your own performances for non-commercial purposes – for example a concert video on your school website – are welcome. Please credit: "Music by [composer name], Pink Petal Music".

5. One licence per ensemble

The licence covers one ensemble, class or orchestra: the group that bought the music. Schools and music services with several independent ensembles need one licence for each ensemble. [Please adjust if you want to offer school or site licences.]

6. Questions

If you are not sure whether your plans are covered, simply ask us – we are happy to help.
